Event - Das Best Oktoberfest - October 20, 2012

On Saturday October 20, 2012 LA Venue in NYC will host Oktober Fest. There will be two sessions:

Session 1: Noon to 4pm (Last call at 3:45pm) 

Session 2: 5:30pm to 9:30pm (Last call at 9:15pm) 

Tickets at $76 in advance or $85 if purchase on-site. The price of the ticket includes unlimited sampling from over 200 International beers, wines and schnapps, a souvenir mug, admittance to beer garden area, and live music, including polka, accordion, klezmer and oompa bands. There will also be live dancing, schuhplattler dancers, traditional Bavarian entertainment and alpine horns. Food will also be available for purchase seperately.

Event - Underground Bartenders Tell Tales and Pour Classics - August 23, 2012

I wasn't aware that the Strand Bookstore in NYC hosts drink events.  To my surprise they will be hosting an event in their rare books room on August 23, 2012. The event cost is the purchase of a $15 gift card to the store. Essentially you are getting the class for free and can use the gift card to buy books on mixing drinks. One tasting cocktail is included in the cost of the class.
In this class you’ll learn tricks and tips from some of the best underground bartenders in New York. The instructors have bartended at Elsa, Hotel Delmano, Ace Hotel, Milk & Honey, Marquee, Cabin Down Under, and Lovers of Today.

Event - Rock Hops Craft Beer Festival August 11, 2012

On August 11, 2012 The Rocks Hops American Music & Craft Beer Tasting will take place at Mercer County Park, NJ. This is a music and "craft beer" festival. The headliners is Dark Star Orchestra; with supporting performances from Bernie Worrell Orchestra,Citizens Band Radio,Quimby Mountain Band, and Lucid.

For $65 the VIP Tasting package, includes a rare beer tasting in Connoisseur Pavilion (tasting open from 3:30PM - 6:00 PM).  Featuring an extensive variety of select, rare artisanally produced creations from America’s top breweries, with selections curated by John Holl, Author & Beer Judge: and John Kleinchester, Founder of Beertography.com.
