The New York Wine Expo begins Friday February 25, 2011 and runs through Sunday at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. A remarkable array of old world Italian, French, German, Austrian, Spanish and Portuguese wines as well as new world wines of South America, Australia, Canada, South Africa and the United States are available for tasting.
Attendees are also pouring into the educational seminars being offered through the weekend that will help turn them into seasoned connoisseurs. Seminar hosts include industry experts, Gloria Maroti Frazee, who oversees Wine Spectator School; Leslie Sbrocco, Founder of “Thirsty Girl”; Marnie Old, sommelier, author and host of Philly.com’s weekly wine and spirits webisode series Uncorked; Mark Oldman, author of the Oldman’s Brave New World of Wine; Jordi Vidal, the Managing Director of the Board of Directors for the Denomination of Origin of Navarra (Association of Navarra Wine Producers).

Note: Sunday, February 27 is dedicated to trade representatives. Liquor licensees from throughout the region are invited to attend on Sunday along with attendees of the co-located International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York. The Wine Expo is not open to the general public on Sunday.
